He doesn't get much rest either so his fitness is beyond reproach.
Shame he never took elocution lessons when he was at Ipswich. That scouse accent does get on my nerves slightly.
You're a good lad Aaron.

Again Manners, all largely irrelevant unless you know who specifically has done that.
I’ve always liked him, for the record. Not that it matters what I think.

Pony - Agree to an extent, but I suppose it depends on the level of past criticism. If you have come out with stuff like 'Cresswell is shit' ''Cresswell is a liability' 'we badly need a new left back' 'the left back spot is our weak area' etc, which many have, you can't then, with any credibility, further down the track then say 'Cresswell is the bollocks'. Who keeps changing their opinion on a player based on said players form?? That's a nonsense and a complete mockery. Generally speaking, you either rate a player or you don't, especially when a player has been at a certain level for a number of years, like Cresswell has. You either hold your hands up and admit you were wrong, or you stand by your convictions. THAT is how adults work.

Well Cresswell was fit for purpose under BFS and now in the Moyes system he flourishes.
No matter how good a player you are though if the system or team mates don’t suit it’s difficult to look adequate. Playing as a left sided defender with Anderson in front of you to “assist” could not have been easy but fortunately that’s in the past.
We need to look to all the factors that combine to make a player look good or not good enough but instead of making instant, blinkered, assessments.

It makes me laugh when people say “oh but you all thought he was shit not so long ago” in some sort of attempt to show people up.
Firstly, unless you monitor exactly who has said what about which players over time, there’s no way of knowing if people are contradicting themselves.
Also, people are entitled to change their minds about a player. It’s how grown ups work.
Players also have good and bad seasons. As such, the prevailing opinion will be different from one season to the next.
So, Cresswell has been good for a while and is rightly getting appreciation. When a player has had a shit season, a few Stowie-like posters will constantly slag them off.
It’s not that hard to understand.

Only player who changes our entire shape when not fit.
As such if Rice is worth £100m, then he’s worth £200m.

He's a natural wing back who has thrived as the rest of the team has settled. Wand of a left foot.

I thought he was past his best a couple of years back, but that may well have been down to how the team was playing/training. he's clearly enjoying his football again and I hope it continues

Last season he was the only player we couldn't replace. Arthur and Johnson cannot get forward AND defend. He's the most underrated player player in a criminally underrated team.
He's a superb player and if it's true that we're all 10 percent bent my entire bentness is going to Cressy. I'm sure he'd be delighted with a fucked up hairy arsed middle aged West Ham supporter with three breaks in his pelvis and six broken ribs.
Sexy.

He's also played as a very competent centre back and could probably look at ease in midfield too.

Very underrated in my opinion. Has been superb this season, barely put a foot wrong. His quality of passing all over the pitch has been excellent and he's back to the form he showed when he first joined us

Then we was utter shit for a while, but last 2 seasons he's been back to his best.

angry - Yep, I always liked him. Always been a stylish type of operator, fell short of being top class of course and lacking aggression probably hasn't done him any favours, but ultimately he has been a very successful signing.

Unfairly a lot of the time, he just went through some shit form for a season and a bit, was never that bad. His defensive positioning has improved a lot over the last two years.

He was at his very best in that last season at Upton Park, but he has been excellent over the last 18 months.

He has a sweet left foot. One of the better left foot crossers of the ball in the Prem, takes a nice free kick too.
There’s plenty to like about his game.
Can’t think of too many left backs playing better than him this year.

He's been top class so far this season, and it's gonna be a nightmare to replace him as he enters the twilight of his career.
